“I intend Bombs Away to be an exhibition that explores pro-nuclear weaponry messaging and imaging.   It’s been 15 years since New Zealand was declared a nuclear free state, and, although the Cold War is officially finished, stockpiling of nuclear weaponry around the world is at an all-time high. In other countries, public opinion against nuclear weaponry is not of the strength to prevent governments’ investment in them.  I’m interested in how the New Zealand government has held a stance so dramatically opposed to that of many other western countries, including major trading partners, and whether it has the strength to continue this stance.”
