How far away is a long, long way away, and why go there anyway? I am an artist from Aotearoa New Zealand, and I came to Puebla to work at Arquetopia. This is what I have made: masks to wear, or perhaps they are sculptures that need to be held. A friend brought me to this pulqueria and told me, this is a very Mexican place. So we sat and I drank pulque with you and thought, would you like to wear my masks? Some of them are noisy, some sparkle like diamonds, some will tickle your chin and some are… just fun to wear. Some are a little sad, but that’s often the way things are.
¿A qué distancia está muy, muy lejos, y por qué ir allí de todos modos? Yo soy un artista de Nueva Zelanda, y llegué a Puebla para trabajar en Arquetopia. Esto es lo que he hecho: Máscaras para usar, o tal vez son esculturas que necesitan ser celebrada. Un amigo me trajo a esta pulquería y me dijo, este es un lugar muy mexicano. Así que nos sentamos y yo bebimos pulque contigo y pensamos, ¿a alguno de los que están aquí les gustaría llevar mis máscaras? Algunas de ellas llevan sonido, otras brillan como diamantes, algunas hacen cosquillas en la barbilla y algunas son … simplemente divertidas de usar. Algunas son ven un poco tristes, pero eso es a menudo como son las cosas.
